URBAN NATION presents DREAMSCAPE: an urban art pavilion exhibiting art 2nd year in row at the LOLLAPALOOZA music festival in Berlin. ART AND MUSIC UN-ITED!
HAPPINESS, CURIOSITY, COURAGE AND LOVE – that is our only manifesto which brought us to all the artists and art lovers. We have created UN-ICORNS and other UN-BREAKABLE creatures. We were putting whole worlds in bubbles and most importantly: dreaming TOGETHER!
Never before have the boundaries between the various different types of art been as blurred as they are today – it’s especially exciting to witness what’s happening where the art overlaps. Following the successful fusion of Urban Contemporary Art and Music at Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik, URBAN NATION (UN) is once again bringing art to the Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin.
We presented the UN installation “The Cube” in 2015, and this year we’re going a step further: we’ve created a walk-in utopian landscape. In Berlin’s Treptower Park, art, nature and music come together – and underscoring this is the installation “DREAMSCAPE: ART AND MUSIC UN-NITED”, which we are setting up at the start of the festival. It features over-sized pieces of art from ten international urban art greats.
The installation manages to creatively overlap analogue and digital art. It lets the festival’s visitors enter a world somewhere between reality and fantasy, and it shows a thrilling interaction of static and dynamic images.
The art oasis is open on 10 and 11 September 2016 on the festival grounds at Berlin’s Treptower Park. If you can’t make it to Lollapalooza, you’ll be able to enjoy the artwork at our URBAN NATION MUSUEM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART, which is opening its doors in mid-2017.
